The switch
Cherryrise’s widget loads under 40kb, lazily on intent, with zero layout shift. Northwind’s engineers ran their usual audit, found it cost almost nothing, and approved it on the first pass.
The result
Live chat now routes into the same queue as email, with no separate inbox to babysit and no performance regression. The widget has survived two bundle audits since.
Sub-40kb, no layout shift — the perf team signed off without a fight, which never happens.
